All special education programs at FSU are committed to high quality personnel preparation, service to the State of Florida, and nationally recognized research leading to improved outcomes for and understanding of children, youth, and adults with disabilities.
Special Education at Florida State University includes:
- teacher preparation in the Education of Students with Exceptionalities (ESE)
- teacher preparation in Visual Impairments
- a variety of Graduate Programs at the Masters, Specialist and Doctoral degree level
- Special Education Endorsements including:
- Endorsement in Autism
- Endorsement in Severe or Profound Disabilities
- *Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist (ITDS)
- *Pre-K Disability Endorsement
- FSU certificate programs in 1) Early Childhood Special Education and 2) Early Childhood and Early Intervention
Each program of offers individualized educational opportunities to those wishing to advance their knowledge and skill in special education practice and research.

Special Education programs follow University and College of Education policies and procedures regarding admission and progress through the academic programs.
Finally, Special Education at FSU also provides training through non-degree programs. For non-special education majors, for example, there is the Minor in Special Education.
