The Office of Recruitment and Retention (ORR) provides administrative and fiscal support aimed at identifying, recruiting, retaining and graduating a diverse student body. The office also assists the College of Education departments in actively recruiting the best and brightest students for all graduate and undergraduate programs at Florida State while creating an environment supportive of the academic success of all students.
The Office of Recruitment and Retention is responsible for the following services:
- Coordinating campus-wide outreach and graduate student recruitment and retention
- Providing effective and efficient support services to graduate students
- Fostering positive faculty-student relations
- Monitoring department student enrollment progress
- Supporting graduate student organizations
- Monitoring and managing enrollment of underrepresented students
- Advising students on policies that relate to fellowships and financial support for graduate students
- Assisting the Graduate School in creating and maintaining a supportive academic environment for its student body
- Providing referral services to students on all aspects of their graduate study.
- Disseminating information about graduate study at the Florida State University to institutions and organizations in the state, region and nation, or wherever prospective students of high quality are found
The ORR Office also has a significant role in coordinating minority recruitment, retention and financial support.
