FALL 2004 EVENTS
- August 12: New faculty orientation.
- August 13: Annual COE faculty luncheon.
- October 27: Office of Minority Affairs invited COE students, faculty, and staff to a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration held in the Pioneers' Room. The event began with a brief presentation regarding the Hispanic/Latino culture followed by a light lunch of traditional food.
- November 4-5: Graduate Minority Recruitment Days. The College of Education Office of Minority Affairs invited all prospective minority graduate students (American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African-American, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and Hispanic) to meet with faculty, staff, and current students at FSU. During the visitation days, students received information concerning degree requirements, financial assistance, housing, campus organizations, and activities.
- November 6, 8 am-10 am The Homecoming event with Scholarship Awards and Donor Recognition Breakfast was hosted at Florida State University School. Many COE graduate and undergraduate students were recognized during this event. Congratulations!
- November 9: A delegation of African educational leaders visited the COE. ELPS faculty and students participated in discussion and exchange of ideas.

November 17: The College of Education Office of Minority Affairs invited COE students, faculty, and staff to attend the Thanksgiving Celebration. Happy holidays!

- January 29: Grand Opening of the COE Assistive Technology Center
- February 11: COE celebration of Black History month sponsored by Office of Minority Affairs.
- February 20: International Symposium Access and Accountability in French and U.S. Higher Education organized by Winthrop-King Institute for Contemporary French and Francophone Studies in association with the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Click here for more details.

- April 27: The Florida State University Education and Library Career Exposition. Please visit this website for details.
Past Education & Library Career Expositions have hosted as many as 100 employers from School Districts and Libraries throughout the country. Positions are available in All Teaching Areas, Administration, Coaching, Guidance and Counseling, Instructional Technology, Libraries and Media Centers, School Psychology, Social Work and Speech Pathology.

- September 10: Dean Richard Kunkel and the Student Advisory Council Association invited students and faculty to join in the fun at the Third Annual Welcome Back Ice Cream Social and meet, greet, make new friends, and welcome new and returning students.
- September 23: The Office of Graduate Studies conducted an information session for faculty and students on electronic dissertation submissions.

- September 25: at the Cawthon Hall Lounge: Many people joined Dean Kunkel as he hosted a Cookout/ Open House to welcome the new members of the Education Learning Community at Cawthon Hall. That was a great opportunity to make a connection with incoming Freshmen who were interested in Education as a major. Pictures are coming soon.
