Lynn Wicker

Associate Dean for Academic Affairs

Lynn A. Wicker is the associate dean for academic affairs for the College of Education at Florida State University. In addition Dr. Wicker is an associate professor in the department of educational leadership and policy studies and has been influential in the development of the distance-learning component for the educational leadership program. Her research interests include principal preparation and preparation program reforms and urban education. She has been a presenter at conferences for several national and state organizations, and school districts throughout the state of Florida. Prior to coming to FSU, Dr. Wicker served in the K-12 sector, with nine years of experience as an elementary education teacher and 11 years as a school administrator, primarily in urban, high poverty environments. She has been awarded the School Advisory Council Leadership Award, Herman Frick Award for Outstanding Graduate students in Educational Leadership, and Outstanding Graduate Student at University of West Florida. She is currently a member of the University Council for Educational Administration, Florida Association for Colleges of Teacher Education, American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, International Reading Association and Association for Curriculum and Development. Wicker received an Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Florida State University, a M.S. in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Troy State University.
