David Foulk

Associate Dean for Administration and Research

David Foulk is the associate dean for administration and research for the College of Education and a professor in the health education program within the department of middle and secondary education, where he served as department chair from 1995-2005. Dr. Foulk is president of the Institute for America's Health, a non-profit research and advocacy group concerning health issues primarily among America's youth. He is the author of Providing Emergency Care, a textbook for training first responders. He has also published numerous articles on substance abuse prevention, HIV- especially among migrant farm workers- and adolescent obesity, in journals including American Journal of Health Studies, International Quarterly of Community Health Education, Journal of Emergency Medical Services and International Electronic Journal of Health Education. He has won the Teacher of the Year Award from University of Florida College of Physical Education, Health and Recreation in 1982-1983, and University of Arkansas Outstanding Professor recognition in the Yale report. Foulk received an Ed.D. and a M.S. in Health Education from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and a B.S. in Health Education from Berry College.
