Gary Crow
Department Chair, Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
Gary M. Crow is a professor and the department chair in the department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the College of Education at Florida State University. Prior to his appointment, he was a faculty member and department chair at the University of Utah and has held faculty appointments at Bank Street College in New York City and Louisiana State University, as well as a visiting professorship at the University of Reading in England. His research interests include work socialization of school site leaders, school leadership and school reform. He has coauthored several books and has contributed articles in numerous publications, including Educational Administration Quarterly, Journal of School Leadership, Journal of Educational Administration, American Educational Research Journal, Urban Education and Educational Management. He was founding editor of the University Council for Educational Administration's Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership and is past president of the council. Crow has also served as past secretary of the American Educational Research Association Division A. Crow received a Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Chicago, an M.S. in educational supervision and administration from Bank Street College of Education in New York City, a M.Div. from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.A. from Oklahoma Baptist University.
