Amy Baylor

Associate Professor, Educational Psychology and Learning Systems and Director of the Center for Research of Innovative Technologies for Learning

Amy Baylor is an associate professor of instructional systems, information technology and educational psychology, appointed in both the College of Education and the College of Information at Florida State University. She is the founder and director of the Center for Research and Innovative Technologies for Learning (RITL) at FSU. In 2006, Dr. Baylor was named to a two- year appointment as a program director of Human-Centered Computing at the National Science Foundation. Before coming to FSU in 1999, Dr. Baylor worked as a research associate at Exponent, as an instructional designer at Microsoft Corporation, and as an assistant professor at San Diego State University. In addition to being honored by several national organizations, Baylor has been published in International Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education, Technology, Instruction, Cognition & Learning, Educational Technology & Society, Reading and Writing, among other journals and conference proceedings. She has memberships in several organizations, including the American Educational Research Association, the Association for Educational Communications and Technology, the International Artificial Intelligence in Education Society and the Association for Computing Machinery. She received a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of South Carolina and B.A. in Philosophy from Stanford University.
