Core faculty includes for this major are members of the School of Teacher Education and the Department of Modern Languages & Linguistics:

Dr. Rebecca Galeano, Assistant In Middle and Secondary Education, teaches courses in ESOL and Foreign Language Teaching Methodologies for the School of Teacher Education.  Galeano currently serves as coordinator of the M.O.S.T programs in ESOL and Foreign Language Education and coordinates undergraduate ESOL programs.

Dr. Patrick Kennell holds a PhD. in Multicultural/ Multilingual Education from Florida State University.  Dr. Kennell has over 20 years of experience teaching English, not only at CIES, but also in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Denmark. He directs FSU's Center for Intensive English Studies.

Dr. Carolyn Piazza is Associate Professor of reading and language arts at Florida State University where she teaches graduate courses in beginning reading, oral and written expression, children’s literature, and research in written composition and sociolinguistics.

Dr. Micheal Leeser is Assistant Professor of Spanish and Director of the Spanish Basic Language Program. His research interests include input processing during second language reading as well as second language classroom interaction. He has been awarded an MCI fellowship for 2004-2006 to develop technology-enhanced hybrid courses for the Spanish Basic Language Program.

Dr. Gretchen Sunderman is Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of  Modern Languages. Dr. Sunderman’s research  centers on Psycholinguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Bilingualism and Hispanic Linguistics. At the graduate level, Dr. Sunderman teaches courses in  Second Language Acquisition, Cognitive Processes in Bilinguals and Second Language Learners, and Research Foundations and Practice in Communicative Language Teaching

Dr. Jeanine Turner is Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology and Learning Systems.  Dr. Turner’s research focuses on learning and cognition in the classroom. Dr. Turner teaches both the applications of educational psychology and the classroom assessment courses.
