Dr. Kenneth Shaw, associate professor, enjoys learning and teaching mathematics. He received a master's degree in mathematics from Middle Tennessee State University in 1983 and received his doctorate in mathematics education from the University of Georgia in 1989. Prior to pursing his doctoral studies, he taught high school mathematics, physics, and computer programming. His research interests focus on learning how and why teachers change their epistemological and pedagogical beliefs. His research interests are complemented by active service in the education community as he conducts workshops and on-going support for schools in Bay County, Florida. He is a resident faculty member and an Associate Dean of Academic Programs at the Panama City Campus of Florida State University.
