The College of Education at The Florida State University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). This accreditation covers Art Education, Early Childhood Education/ESOL (PreK-Primary/ESOL), Elementary Education/ESOL, English Education/ESOL, Middle Grades Mathematics Education, Music Education, Physical Education, Social Science Education, Science Education (Biology, Chemistry, Earth/Space, Middle Grades, Physics), Secondary Mathematics Education, Visual Disabilities, Communication Sciences & Disorders (Speech/Language Impaired), Library & Information Studies (Educational Media Specialist), Educational Leadership/Administration, School Psychology, at the Colleges of: Arts and Sciences, Education, Communication and Information, Music, Visual Arts, Theater, and Dance. However, the accreditation does not include individual education courses that the institution offers to P-12 educators for professional development, relicensure, or other purposes.
