Enriching Centers and Resources
Fully equipped research and educational centers supplement the College of Education’s academic mission by offering support, resources, and opportunities for enrichment to Florida State faculty and students, as well as the Tallahassee Community.ains an ongoing research and training function.
Adult Learning Evaluation Center
ALEC provides affordable psychiatric educational evaluations for adults who suffer from learning disabilities or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Additionally, the center provides individual education client coaching and maintains ongoing research and training.
Center for Higher Education Research, Teaching and Innovation
CHERTI conducts scholarly research in higher-education administration – with a strong impact throughout Florida’s community college and state university systems. The center serves the systems by growing and developing faculty resources, student opportunities, and a robust academic community.
Center for the Study of Technology in Counseling and Career Development
The Tech Center assists the educational community by improving the design and use of computer technology in counseling and career development. It is active with researchers, software developers, and policy makers to achieve these goals.
Garnet and Gold Scholar Society
The Garnet and Gold Scholar Society facilitates involvement and recognizes engaged, well-rounded undergraduate students who excel within and beyond the classroom in the areas of Leadership, Internship, Service, International, and Research. Undergraduate students who meet the criteria in three of the five areas and complete a synthesis project will qualify to graduate as a member of the Garnet and Gold Scholars Society.
Hardee Center for Leadership and Ethics in Higher Education
The Hardee Center supports the professional and scholarly development of graduate students in the school’s Higher Education program. Support is given through the sponsorship of research, programs, and service activities that promote leadership and ethics.
Learning Resource Center
The LRC delivers support services and classroom/lab facilities, as well as study rooms and multimedia equipment.
Office of Academic Services and Intern Support
OASIS provides academic advisement to undergraduates interested in an Education major. Staff helps students with everything from pre-education advising do degree certification.
Office of Information and Instructional Technologies
The OIIT encourages the growth of the best possible learning and teaching environment through the use of advanced technology, including enhanced facilities, information resources, and instructional technologies.
